Mobile solutions in transportation – 2010

It was already the fifth time that, the BayLogi Research Institute based in Miskolc organized the conference titled “Mobile solutions in transportation”, between March 22 and 24, 2010, in Aggtelek. Every year brings a new peak in the number of participants and this year did not break the tradition at all.

Participants crowded the event’s site at the Csepkő (Dripstone) Hotel, in Aggtelek. At the conference opening, they all took part in the traditionally held pig-killing feast and for the first time since its beginning, a foreign company sent representatives, as well. The team of Kentkart arrived from Izmir, Turkey and gave a presentation about their e-ticket system implemented in that big city, with a population of 3.2 million, which can be used on buses, trains and ferries, as well.

The conference was organized around two big topics, focusing on the possibilities presented by the ROP proposal program titled “Development of community transportation infrastructure” and the modelling of mass transportation networks. Naturally, we also held a short information session of the TDC consortium’s previous year results on utilization possibilities of real-time traffic data. Several Hungarian companies presented their own vehicle tracking and passenger information systems, so that, there was no shortage in spectacular applications.
